Well I Reckon…

In our continued struggle to heal our friends, communities, and landscape, we are constantly looking toward our plant allies for assistance with the transitions and changes in our lives.  After working to change the land, working to change the people, and working as an ambassador between the two, it is apparent that herbs have been a connective tissue intricately woven between the two throughout.  Unfortunately, with the rise of modern civilization, humans have been straying from their normal paths with the rest of animal life and have increasingly failed to interact with and live with the plant life around them.  To healthfully continue along our path into the future it is extremely important that we begin to rediscover the connections we already have to the plants that fill our ditches and backyards.  As we consume them we allow our bodies to be reflections of the ecosystem where we dwell and with this co-habitation we realize the struggle that our lands are facing while desperately trying to cope with our modern lives.  With these realizations we can begin to heal ourselves and change the environment that we live in, in turn creating a more vibrant and joyful future for all. 

On the same token, it is of increasing importance to nurture and preserve the plants we share this habitat with.  Part of their evolution through time and change is to be a reflection of the environment they dwell in.  The animals that share a habitat with plants use the plants as food and medicine and in so doing make the plants stronger and more adapted to their ecosystem.  If no animals ever tore at the branches of our beloved plantain, might it lose the ability to grasp the barren soil as well as it does?  Many of plants’ wonderful abilities come from its own healing needs and the constituents that we desire are really intended to be healers for the plant itself.  Just as humans desire to be useful to their friends when they are in need, plants are willing, able, and ready to help their human and animal friends whenever they can be useful.  Using these plants for what they are good at is an essential part of their life and evolution as well as ours.  To care for a plant is to make it your friend and treat it as such.  And when you are down and your friends come to your aid, gladly accept their help.  By growing numerous rare, sensitive, edible, and medicinal plants at our botanical sanctuary gardens we are preserving and nurturing as many plants as we can so they will never be lost to future generations. 

Finally, when we each give up some of our self to aid in the creation of a better whole, whether in our bodies or our world, all will benefit and begin to grow.  By giving self to self, evolution begins.  These extracts are a gift from us to you in our hope for all of life to grow, evolve, and abound together in harmony.

Our Philosophy

     As our products are Ecologically Formulated™, we specialize in botanicals either organically grown or in natural  abundance here in the Pacific Northwest.  Our 5 acre patch is nestled on 33 organic acres at the southern end of the Willamette Valley on deep alluvial soils.  Our other 10 acre patch is up in the shadows of the evergreen cascades on mountain soils, perfect for many shade and forest crops on another 47 acres.  Being situated where the Valley transitions into the majestic Cascade Mountain Range, we have easy access to vast stands of wildcrafted medicinals we pick and tend.  Just minutes away, our Processing Lab completes the cycle of the Field to Pharmacy Process™.  
     Pharmacopia Herbals products are created from botanicals that are locally producible. We use only the highest quality raw plant material available, harvested by our own crews at the peak of potency.  Our products are freshly produced and deepen the connection between people and place.
