Social and Environmental Responsibility
We are proud to say that we recycle and reuse everything imaginable within our operation. You even recieve most orders in a reused box that we've picked up from local stores that would otherwise recycle them or from an incoming component order we've had. We reuse the back sides of all non-sensitive paperwork as scraps in the office, and waste as little as possible. Whenever possible we use biodiesel in our machines and incorporate human power as much as possible to create products with the lifeforce of human spirit as well as true work.
Another way we contribute to the greening of the world is through seed dissemination. Every year we contribute and donate generous amounts of seeds to various non-profits and to seed exchanges of our medicinally bred herb seeds, as well as heirloom vegetable varieties saved on our farm in the work-study garden for planting and eating.
All of the information that we print is on 100% recycled, Forest Steward Council Certified paper.
We have innovated many uniques systems that allow us to use much less energy in producing our
herbal products. For example, we engineered a custom herb drier which can be towed with a truck anywhere to harvest wildcrafted herbs. If you will be picking for a few days with a few people, then you can use much less fuel by staying there and drying the herbs in the field than if you had to bring the herbs back to the drying shed each night, not to mention all the time saved and the improved quality that brings to the picking and the experience of our employees and work-studyers. On the last day, just before we leave we'll pick the fresh herbs we need and deliver them straight to the laboratory for processing. This has saved us much time, fuel, and energy, while guaranteeing our customers the highest quality product that is ecologically sound.
